PFAS is not only in the Indian River Lagoon, but wildlife's blood at the space center tested at the highest levels of toxic fluorinated chemicals ever measured in the species.
Forever in Florida is a project of the fall 2020 Environmental Journalism class at the University of Florida. This project looked into the invisible and harmful chemicals known as PFAS and how these compounds are affecting Florida's ecosystem and human health. How Do I Test My Water?
When communities deal with water quality issues such as a strong smell, discoloration, or bad taste, they often feel helpless and stressed, not knowing if it's safe. Stel has teamed up with TAP Score to empower communities with a resource to become their own citizen scientist and get the answers they deserve. Tap Score is a sponsor and we may receive a donation toward testing projects for purchases made through these links.
We must restore and maintain our waterways. Sewer discharges, biosolids, coastal erosion, herbicide spraying, pesticide runoff, increasing development, poor infrastructure, and cancer-causing chemicals in our drinking water are just a few of the challenges we face in Florida.
