Blog Submission Guidelines

Use your "Reader View Available" option on mobile.

First of all, thank you for your interest in submitting your personal story, project, information, insight, expertise, and other content related to Florida's environment and communities. Fight For Zero is working to share stories throughout the state of Florida because we believe every voice matters. We would love to work with you!

For all submissions, please follow the submissions guidelines found below. When submitting to our blog, you may need to use a computer, not your smartphone. By submitting to our blog, you are releasing content for us to publish and agree to the terms and conditions in the disclaimer below. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

 WHAT WE LOOK FOR

  • Creative content that helps educate on various environmental and conservation issues.
  • Excellent resources for our readers to learn and use; letter drafts, how-to, links, etc.
  • Stories from people that bring awareness to cancer or autoimmune diseases.
  • Summarized stories about your community and possible contamination or health issues.
  • Exciting DIY projects, recipes, and designs that promote sustainable living.
  • Features on businesses in the state of Florida that are environmentally-friendly.
  • Features on safe products that promote ZERO contaminants in the environment.
  • Pollution issues happening in your area; algae, PFAS, phosphate mining, waste dumping, etc.
  • Stories about advocacy and activism with tips and tricks.
  • Positive stories of government officials stepping up to make a difference.
  • Reasons why you love Florida; photography, favorite places to visit, beach life, food, etc.

 IMAGE SPECIFICATIONS

Due to the way our blog is set up, we prefer horizontal images.

  • Please send anywhere from 2-80 original high-resolution images for us to consider
  • Images should be high-resolution digital images, all individuals (no collages)
  • Photos should be big, bright, and sharp, with no timestamps or watermarks. Low- quality photos or out-of-focus photos cannot be used.

We welcome several different methods for sending images, but if sharing through Dropbox, please send a direct link to the Dropbox folder with a Dropbox folder invitation and please ensure that "home" is not present in the URL, or we won't be able to access it. A direct link saves us both time and space and will ensure a quicker response. Here is an assortment of popular ways to share images:

  • Dropbox folder link
  • Google Drive link
  • Smugmug link

You can either attach the photos to our email or link to images using either Dropbox, Smugmug, or Google Drive. You must make sure that we have granted access to the album to download and to include the gallery download pin (if needed).

 ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We also ask that you kindly share any known social media handle for all involved - Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Be sure to double-check these handles for accuracy. You will be acknowledged as a guest writer to our blog. If you have a website or contact information you would like to share, please include that in your submission.

 DISCLAIMER

By submitting features for consideration to this blog, you assume responsibility or ownership of its copyrighted work. Make sure the included vendors agree with the plans to provide featured content. Please do not submit if a submission is pending elsewhere, as we do not retract scheduled features.

Be advised we will not respond to submissions without images and a list of vendors. Likewise, content that has already been featured in other competing publications or sites will not be accepted.

Publishing on your personal blog is permitted. Please keep in mind that we are an exclusive blog - if you wish to submit accepted content elsewhere, we ask that you wait until 90 days have elapsed since your feature date on this blog - F4Zero.org - Fight For Zero.

Submissions are never guaranteed and depend on the backlog and editorial needs. All submissions go through a rigorous review and editing process.

We love diversity. That's part of what makes this blog and the team behind it exceptional. We do not discriminate or otherwise give priority to photography sets based on color, religion, sexual orientations, dress size, or national origin. Featured photography sets are determined by the image quality, decor aesthetics, unique details, settings, and content according to what Fight For Zero readers love.
